Celebrate the season with ¡Wepa! Coffee’s Coquito de Café, a caffeinated twist on the classic Puerto Rican holiday beverage.
This holiday season, ¡Wepa! Coffee Co. is introducing the rich, vibrant flavors of 100% Puerto Rican coffee to the US market through a traditional Christmas drink straight from the tropics. Just in time for Christmas, the company is sharing its festive twist on a traditional Puerto Rican holiday beverage—Coquito de Café—crafted with its signature 100% single-origin Puerto Rican Arabica coffee.
Coquito is a beloved holiday drink, often referred to as “Puerto Rican eggnog.” It is enjoyed on the Island from the start of the holiday season just after Halloween through mid-January, when the Christmas celebrations culminate in the massive street party, Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián (also known as SanSe).
Coquito is a creamy, rum-infused beverage made with coconut, condensed milk, and spices. It has countless family variations. ¡Wepa! Coffee’s version, Coquito de Café, adds a new layer of flavor by incorporating the smooth, rich flavor of 100% Puerto Rican coffee to the classic coquito.
Coquito de Café Recipe:
Featuring ¡Wepa! Coffee’s signature 100% Puerto Rican coffee, evaporated milk, condensed milk, coconut cream, and rum, this holiday specialty is a rich, smooth, and festive way to kick off your celebrations:
Ingredients:
- Two cans evaporated milk
- One can condensed milk
- One can coconut cream
- ½ cup Wepa Coffee (strongly brewed)
- 2 oz coffee liqueur
- White Rum (to taste. *Local favorite is Rincon Rum)
- Cinnamon (garnish)
Instructions:
- Combine evaporated milk, condensed milk, and coconut cream in a blender.
- Add freshly brewed ¡Wepa! Coffee and coffee liqueur, and blend until smooth.
- Taste and adjust with rum to your preferred level of strength.

Coquito can be served chilled or at room temperature. A creamy coconut flavor mingles with the rich, smooth coffee and Caribbean rum to immediately transport you to the sandy beaches and misty mountains of Puerto Rico.
Known as “The Coffee of Popes & Kings,” Puerto Rico has grown exceptional coffee for centuries, but its presence in the international coffee landscape has dwindled in recent years. The mission of ¡Wepa! Coffee Co. is to share and showcase the world-class quality of 100% Puerto Rican coffee with the world and do its part to uplift the local coffee industry in Puerto Rico.
¡Wepa! Coffee has earned recognition for its dedication to bringing 100% Puerto Rican coffee to the US market in an elevated and unconventional way. Based in Puerto Rico, they proudly produce 100% Single Origin Puerto Rican Coffee and just released an innovative new Cold Brew product. Vibrant branding, meticulous sourcing, and culturally rich marketing and engagement set ¡Wepa! Coffee Co. has captured the attention of coffee enthusiasts and Puerto Ricans both locally and in the US.
About ¡Wepa! Coffee Co.:
Founded in 2022 by Brittany and Jeff Didra and Pedro De León, ¡Wepa! Coffee Co. is a Puerto Rican company dedicated to bringing 100% Puerto Rican coffee to the US market. The company sources its coffee beans directly from Puerto Rican farmers. It is committed to supporting the Island’s coffee industry by hiring Puerto Rican workers and using local resources whenever possible.
Pedro grew up on the Island to the smell of rich, dark-roast coffee brewing in the Greca, and Britt and Jeff discovered the exceptional brew after getting married on the Island. Upon returning to the States, the couple realized there was no option for authentic Puerto Rican coffee in the American market and decided to create what they sought. Their love for the Island and Puerto Rican coffee led to a serendipitous meeting with Pedro, and together, they created ¡Wepa! Coffee Co. as an homage to the illustrious history of Puerto Rican coffee and to showcase its high-quality beans to a wider audience – positioning Puerto Rico among the best coffee regions in the world.
