Heine Nzumafo is multifaceted, multitalented, and—like anyone working hard professionally all week—very busy. Around two years ago, Heine’s wife, a Financial Counselor working under consistent and strong demands from bosses, expressed frustration with her scheduling platform. Heine has seen plenty of setbacks in the creation of his new business, and he’s not new to bouncing back after a knockdown. His first venture, Hiipe, was a chat app that, despite a successful crowdfunding campaign, did not achieve long-term success. Heine started with a three-page PowerPoint presentation, and within seven months and under $40,000, QueueSlot had its first version on the way.
Heine immigrated to the United States from Cameroon in 1995, and his leadership skills were honed during his tenure as an Officer in the United States Army’s Signal Corps. He took advantage of the US military connection to educational programs and completed both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He’s worked in several roles such as Scrum Master, Senior Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, and Agile Coach. He currently works as an Agile Project Manager, leveraging his extensive experience to drive innovative solutions in tech. All the while in every single one of these positions, he’s grinded on his hustle project—building it from the ground up to support entrepreneurs in their scheduling. QueueSlot was and is supported by Heine’s incredible work ethic. He’s able to merge all of his work to help the business idea. His Scrum Master training program offered hands-on internships with partner companies, but it faced limitations when these companies did not provide full access to project management tools. Resourceful as always, he used the new program funds as a lever to lift up his project while in early development.
